WHAT TO EXPECT

A one-of-a-kind 90 min experience. 

One afternoon.

Two dragon boats. 20 industry friends per boat. 

One championship team win.

Join developers, architects, designers, builders, engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, and real estate professionals for an unforgettable afternoon of competition and networking on False Creek.

No dragon boat experience is required at all! There will be a teacher and guide per boat with a paddling tutorial at the beginning.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need dragon boating experience?

Not at all. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Creative Founder (Alexa) of Spaces Uncovered has never even done it herself!!

Can I register without a team?

 Yes you can. Register as a single paddler. Individual registrants will be assigned to a boat crew. 

How many paddlers fit per boat?

20 paddlers per boat. There will be 2 boats total. 1 instructor per boat leading us. 

What should I wear?

Comfortable athletic clothing or waterproof clothing if you have it. This event will occur rain or shine. Bring a change of clothing as the clothing you wear on the boat may get wet!

How can I ensure my industry friends are in my same boat?

Since there are only two boats, there is no way to ensure this if you register as an individual. If you register as a team captain, you can select 3 other industry people to be in your boat, and may have some negotiating power to influence what individual participants are in your boat as well ;). If you really want to recruit the strongest players, you can buy two team captain tickets. 

Is my ticket refundable?

At this time, we are not accepting refunds. All tickets are non-refundable.  You may however transfer your ticket to an industry friend. It is very important that your seat gets filled on race day, otherwise the boat and race teams will not be balanced. 

Where do we meet on race day?

We will all meet at Creekside Community Centre on the side facing the seawall. We will be stationed at the red "Program Check-In" flag.
